Our Story

In 2016, we had an opportunity to buy our FUTURE RETIREMENT HOME in Yachats ("The Gem of the Oregon Coast").  In order to sustain the property until retirement, and to be able to utilize it ourselves, we decided to open our house to guests as a short-term rental.  The thought of managing our property long distance was daunting. We decided to find a local property management company to help manage our home.  Having had experience with one company as a guest, we ruled them out right away.  Another company talked a good game, and with the lack of options, we hired them to manage our home.   Unfortunately, within a short time, it became clear we had made the wrong choice. 

Therefore, we took the following steps:

• We decided to take the leap and manage our vacation home ourselves.  This was a scary and uncertain venture. 
• We did extensive research on managing short-term rentals. 
• We developed a top-notch local team who takes so much pride in their work. 
• And, we continue to be laser-focused on helping our guests MAKE MEMORIES at our home.

We decided to take this passion and offer it to others who share our vision and High Tide Vacation Homes was born.
